W&W2024: Minimalism and Modernity in the Patrimony Vacheron Constantin

A perfect balance of curves and lines: for two decades, the Patrimony collection, inspired by the minimalist watches of the 1950s, has celebrated purity of style and the pursuit of the essential. New diameter, new dial and strap shades, personalization: the collection is firmly anchored in its era with three new timepieces. Two hand-wound models in white gold or rose gold feature an unprecedented 39 mm diameter, an antique silver dial, a closed case back offering the possibility of custom engraving, and two new strap shades, blue or olive green. The third model, in white gold with moon phases and retrograde calendar, offers an antique silver dial and an olive green alligator leather strap.

At first glance, nothing has changed: the design is understated, unquestionably elegant, classic, and very contemporary. Yet the hand-wound Patrimony has definitely evolved since 2004, starting with the size of the two new hand-wound models, ideal for all wrists. Already appreciated for its 40 mm diameter, today the sculpted case in rose or white gold features a classic 39 mm diameter.

An aesthetic taken up by the typical convex dial, whose surface with a soleil finish is dressed in a new antique silver hue. This nuance, which lends a retro note, contrasts with the rose gold of the slender hands typical of the Patrimony collection, with the hour markers and circular pearl minute track composed of 48 polished gold pearls. In addition to these stylistic variations, alligator leather straps are available in new, original blue and olive green hues, which lend a fresh touch to the natural understatement of Patrimony timepieces.

The final aesthetic detail is the closed back, which allows the watch to be personalized with a text or decoration of your choice, delicately engraved in gold.

While sobriety is the watchword, precision is equally important. At the heart of the case beats the hand-wound Caliber 1440. Developed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin, it is only 2.6 mm thick and has a 42-hour power reserve.

A Vacheron Constantin watch is much more than the sum of its components. Starting with a sketch, a geometric drawing and its technical extensions, a whole world of shapes, colors and textures is born. The complex structures of mechanical engineering combine with design; meticulous detailing brings grace to life; clever craftsmanship ignites emotions. Based on formal and mathematical study, Vacheron Constantin timepieces are endowed with soul and elegance, and are the ultimate expression of artistic talent.

The classicism of the Traditionnelle collection, the minimalism of the Patrimony watches, the allure of the Égérie line, and the sporty-chic spirit of the Overseas timepieces vividly illustrate how art is inspired by geometric shapes, expressing itself in Vacheron Constantin's chosen theme for 2024.

Created in 2004, the Patrimony collection celebrates 20 years of elegance and style.

Celebration of watchmaking minimalism through three models that feature a new antique silver-colored soleil dial, straps with novel shades, a customizable case back, and a diameter of only 39 mm for the hand-wound models.

The quintessence of classic watchmaking: the legacy of the 1950s and the watches produced by Vacheron Constantin during that period.
