The PAM01405 Experience Edition is the first 45mm Submersible to feature the tourbillon complication, and it is also the first of its kind to combine the complexity of a tourbillon with the futuristic appeal of Carbotech, a carbon fiber-based composite material that recalls one of the most iconic materials in the composition of Luna Rossa's boat hull, made almost entirely of carbon fiber. Carbotech's manufacturing process involves compressing sheets of carbon fiber at a precise temperature and high pressure together with PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone), a superior polymer that bonds the composite, enhancing its strength and longevity. The resulting Carbotech plates boast superior mechanical properties and strength-to-weight ratio performance, enabling very comfortable ergonomics while being resistant to harsh wear conditions. Noticeably lighter than titanium and ceramics, Carbotech excels in resistance to external forces and corrosion.
The PAM01405 features a 45mm case that is smaller than previous Submersible Tourbillons, maximizing portability without compromising its imposing presence. At its heart, the hand-wound mechanical caliber P.2015/T is the result of three years of dedicated development, with the assembly of the movement and tourbillon cage requiring eight meticulous hours of craftsmanship. The patented tourbillon, which completes a horizontal rotation every 30 seconds, is a distinctive feature of this extraordinary timepiece.
The mechanism undergoes a rigorous testing phase to ensure optimal power reserve and precise timekeeping, meeting Panerai's high quality standards. With a 4-day power reserve, the display of which is positioned on the back side for discreet visibility, a 24-hour GMT function, and a day and night display, this new Submersible meets the needs of the modern traveler. The watch boasts water resistance to 30 bar (~300 meters), an impressive measurement for a highly complicated movement.

The bezel of the PAM01405 is made of titanium, finished with a black DLC coating and adorned with white lacquer hour markers. To match, an openworked display offers a glimpse into the watch's mechanical construction, while red and white accents on the hands and hour markers not only facilitate readability but also complement Luna Rossa's distinctive palette.
The Super-LumiNova coating on the rim enhances the spectacular nature of the design in darkness and serves as an aesthetic nod to Panerai's deep connection with the field of luminescence. The hours, minutes and bezel feature blue and green Super-LumiNova to facilitate reading dive time or simply readability in low-light conditions.
Accompanying the watch are two straps: the first, a bimaterial Luna Rossa strap that combines the durability of rubber with the aesthetics of fabric, features a sporty design with a prominent red accent in homage to the partnership with the renowned sailing team. The second rubber strap, in monochrome black, appeals to those who prefer an understated, elegant look to complement the watch's Carbotech case and skeleton movement.
