The Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date 19168 came several variations with combinations of diamonds, sapphires and rubies. With a set look sometimes seen on custom work, the 19168 was delivered from the Rolex factory with baguette and brilliant-cut stones on the bracelet and 44 curved baguette-cut stones on the bezel. With a very distinctive bracelet sometimes referred to as an octopus bracelet, the 19168 BRIL, 19168 SAPH, and 19168 RUBY definitely had a style all their own.
Seen only in Rolex catalogs until the late 1980s/early 1990s, the 19168 is almost never seen for sale nowadays. When you spot one for sale nowadays, the year of manufacture is normally 1987.
